On The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Friday afternoon, Ellen invited audience member Matea up on stage to try out the new Conair Curl Secret--and the girl freaked out.

The Conair Curl Secret is a new product that creates perfect barrel curls in a matter of seconds, and audience member Matea had the perfect, long straight hair to try it out.

Unfortunately, DeGeneres didn't think her own hair was going to be able to make the cute.

While she was in the chair, at the mercy of Ellen's styling prowess, the audience member was visibly nervous for her luscious locks.

The first curl was a little lack luster, partly due to Matea's nerves. Ellen urged her to trust her, and Matea relented, as Ellen created a second, much fuller and bouncier hair curl.

Suddenly, Ellen yells in surprise, and pulls out a hefty lock of hair! "I'm so sorry," Ellen said, and Matea screamed her little heart out.

No worries though, it was a kind-hearted prank, and while Matea had an initial heart attack, was consoled when she realized it was a joke.

The lucky woman took home her own Conair Curl Secret to practice with, and Ellen danced her back to her seat. Then all was well in the world.

Silly Ellen strikes again.

Also on the show, Matthew McConaughey joined to talk about his new film "Interstellar." Lucky for him, he already has naturally curly hair, and doesn't need to be subject to Ellen's tomfoolery.
