When Ellen DeGeneres hears amazing stories of heroism, you already know you can expect to see the hero appear on her show.

DeGeneres met Renita Smith, a bus driver who saved the lives of 20 kids in one of the most heroic stories you'll ever hear.

DeGeneres kicked off the segment by retelling the story of how the bus Smith was driving caught on fire. She then welcomed Smith, who started driving the school bus in 2014, to the show.

She has been with the county since 1999 and there were no signs of anything going wrong. Smith then noticed that her brake light was on and her kids started telling her that they smelled smoke.

The bus bursted into flames and her "babies" as she referred to the kids got into a single file line and she brought them off of the bus. Smith said the neighbors saw what was happening and helped get the kids to a safe haven.

However, it didn't end there for Smith. She got back on to the burning bus to make sure all of the kids were accounted for.

The audience cheered as footage from the enormous bus fire played in the background. The kids on the bus ranged from ages 4 to 10. Smith was thanked by all of the parents and kids.

She even had a pep rally and was overwhelmed with the response she has gotten. Smith's first plane ride was out to LA for The Ellen Show. You can watch Smith tell the amazing story in the video below.
