After taking some time to promote Finding Dory and leaving guest hosts in charge of her show, Ellen DeGeneres returned to hosting The Ellen Show for the very special Finding Dory release week.

DeGeneres told her fans that it was a wonderful day to be there with her because it was Finding Dory week and the film would be coming out on Friday.

DeGeneres continued to ask her fans how many people had short-term memory-loss and repeated the question to add a little humor to the opening.

The host says she doesn't trust her memory anymore.

Before she left the house she checked to see if the stove was off, which she says was ridiculous because she doesn't know how to turn it off.

DeGeneres continued to joke that we have short-term memory-loss because we depend on technology and because of memory foam, our beds have more memory than we do.

It was a bright a light opening from the host, despite her heartbreaking tweet following the Orlando shooting that left 50 dead. You can watch DeGeneres' introduction of Finding Dory week in the video below.
