A few weeks ago the hot topic was how incredibly large the Powerball jackpot had grown as it reached nearly $1.6 billion, before Lisa and John Robinson along with two other lucky players won the big prize.

The couple shared their story on the Ellen DeGeneres show.

"It's a dream and I don't want to wake up right now," said John.

John said he purchased the tickets at his wife's request and at first he didn't want to stop because he wasn't feeling well. The couple said that they only buy tickets when the jackpot is huge.

He stopped at the store anyway and bought four tickets.

He handed the tickets to his wife and went to sleep. Meanwhile, that evening his wife decided to watch the drawing and was overcome with joy when she found out that her numbers matched the drawing.

Lisa ran to her husband in excitement and he then checked the numbers about four times. However, John wanted to make sure that they got the news from a reputable source before he got excited about the winning ticket. They couldn't sleep but after seeing the news at 4:30 AM they knew they hand won the lottery.

The couple talked about the paperwork they needed to go through and also the dark side of winning which happens to be people sending a ton of mail in hopes that they will be able to receive a handout.

DeGeneres presented the couple with a huge wallet and four Powerball tickets for the $75 drawing. Check out the interview below.
