Elizabeth Banks, who plays Effie Trinket in "The Hunger Games" franchise, appeared on The Ellen Show to chat about her star status in front of, and behind the camera.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" premieres this Friday, November 21, and Banks' starring character is pushed to her limits. "The first two films we spent all of our time essentially in the arena," Banks said of the movie.

"My character, Effie, is a fish out of water. She's from the Capital, and is forced to relocate to District 13... Basically Effie was like, her own Project Runway project," Banks said.

Effie is one of the most popular characters in The Hunger Games, and made numerous appearances this past Halloween. "You really know you've made it in Hollywood when everyone is you for Halloween," Banks joked.

Banks also talked about her latest gig as the director of "Pitch Perfect 2", and having to watch out for dangerous brown recluse spiders while shooting on location. The film is set to premiere in theaters in May 2015.

According to Youth Health Magazine, "Banks has been revealing spoilers and sneak peeks on her blog.

"The "Hunger Games" actress previously announced that the famous "Sing-Off" winner Pentatonix, Hindi-American acapella group Penn Masala, and amazingly skilled Filipino-Hindi-American acapella group Filharmonics will be present in the movie as well.

These teams will most likely be the new competition."

The official trailer for "Pitch Perfect 2" will be released next week.
