During a visit to The Ellen Show, Drew Brees opened up about his expired contract and what that means for his future in the league. He also chatted about he and DeGeneres' friend, Brian.

DeGeneres and Brees opened up the interview chatting about the text he got from their friend Brian McKenna, who was paralyzed in a terrible accident. The text contained a video of Brian skiing down a mountain, which blew both of their minds.

Brees promised Brian that he would visit Brian in the off-season and go skiing together with their families.

Meanwhile, DeGeneres wanted to know what Brees' expired contract meant for the future of his career.

Brees told DeGeneres that it means he would be playing every game and season moving forward with a sense of urgency.

The New Orleans Saints quarterback said he wants to bring the Vince Lombardi trophy back to The Ellen Show and help his team win a championship.

Brees said he wants to go out on his own terms and when the time comes for that, it will be all about his family.

The quarterback also held himself accountable and said he needed to do better. You can hear what Brees had to say in The Ellen Show video below.
