If you, like me, had no idea why "Dick Poop" was trending, and did a silent, quick prayer for humanity before inevitable clicking it, you'll have learned that during the Oscar nominations on Thursday morning, cinematographer Dick Pope was nominated for his work for "Mr.
Turner," and his named was unfortunately mispronounced as "Dick Poop." Taking it in good stride, Pope stated that he's been called worse. Haven't we all?
And now, the most infamous mispronunciation in Academy Awards history is causing the Twitterverse to do a double take of the trends list.
As of writing, the words "Dick Poop" rests below #8YearsofKidrauhl and above #KnowYourNeighbor to take the the fifth slot.
I think it's safe to say this is surely one of Twitter's greatest accomplishments. From now until the end of days, it's considered journalistic and normal to Google "dick poop video." Merry Christmas, everyone.
