PUTPUT is a Swiss/Danish artist duo based in Copenhagen, Denmark that combines sculpture and photography to produce playful, witty pieces of art.

The key behind PUTPUT's success is their ability to make viewers think. Their work is all about transformation and the fluidity of meaning.

They set out to create "a warped reality where things out of place are perfectly in place," by making one thing stand for something completely different.

PUTPUT takes mundane, everyday objects and puts them in unusual contexts, creating strange hybrids that challenge the ways we perceive such objects. Previously recognizable things, like sponges and houseplants, suddenly become unfamiliar, morphing into popsicles or lamps.

This is, of course, wherein the pleasure lies--the surprise of seeing something we might otherwise overlook, in a new light.
