"Say Anything" was an iconic movie most remember for its famous scene where John Cusack stood outside Ione Skye's window with a boom box over his head blaring Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes."
Now, NBC is planning a TV adaptation of the movie and the film's creator and director Cameron Crowe, as well as its lead Cusack are not happy. Crowe has been vocal on Twitter as to his opposition.
Regarding the announcement of a "Say Anything" tv show... @JohnCusack, @IoneSkye1 and I have no involvement... except in trying to stop it.

Cusack is also against the series.
I love that idea!"@OrionKidder: Thank you! Related question, is there such thing as a "Kickstopper"? @CameronCrowe @ @IoneSkye1"

After the two shared their dislike for the project, Deadline.com reported that NBC had backed off the idea.
"Less than 24 hours after NBC closed a deal for a TV series based on the 1989 Cameron Crowe movie Say Anything..., the project has been shelved by studio 20th Century Fox TV."
