Black Sails, the prequel to Treasure Island, is returning on January 24, 2015. The announcement was made on Facebook, where the crew of the television show told fans that it's "bloody official" and to "mark (their) books."

The series premiered on Starz this year; season one followed John Silver as he manipulated other pirates to gain acceptance into Captain Flint's crew.

Silver, the antagonist of Robert Louis Stevenson's famous novel, had information about a Spanish treasure galleon that Flint wanted.

In the season's final episode, the treasure galleon crashed--leaving its contents strewn all over the beaches of a tropical island.

There are still questions to be answered from season one; what happened to Billy Bones? The last we saw of him, he fell off Flint's ship as a British Man-o-War bombarded it.

Bones likely survived the blast, as he is alive in the beginning of Treasure Island.

In addition, the story between Charles Vane and Eleanor Guthrie hasn't been settled. Vane, the bad boy of the show, forcibly took over watch duties of Nassau-- allowing him to watch over the woman he admires.

Eleanor holds a grudge against Vane for ruining her relationship with Max and disrupting her operations.

The remnants of Vane's old crew--Jack Rackham and Anne Bonny--were running the brothel at the end of season one, and their relationship was tense. Bonny was seen surreptitiously ogling Max by the end of the season.

Fans of fictionalized piracy are will be satisfied in January. For more about Black Sails, including reviews of season one, go here. You can also visit the show's official website here.
