Mallrats, the cult classic from director Kevin Smith, turns 20 this year. In observance of this, Smith wants to conduct interviews at the mall where the film was shot, according to a post on his Facebook page.

"In the fall of 2015, MALLRATS will turn 20 years old," Smith stated.

"My goal is to record a series of anniversary Q&A screenings at the Eden Prairie mall movie theater with folks who still like my second flick. I'll let you know when I have more details."

Mallrats was Smith's second major release. It takes place a day before Clerks in the director's "Askew-niverse"; protagonists Brodie and T.S. have to win back their ex-girlfriends and stop a game show from airing.

In 2005, the film's tenth anniversary, Smith released a DVD with an alternate version of the movie, which included a cut storyline where T.S. is accused of trying to kill a political figure. Originally, this was supposed to be the reason why T.S. and Brandy--his girlfriend--break up.

This, however, was cut from the theatrical release due to underwhelming reception from test audiences. The version most people know opens with a verbal fight between T.S. and Brandy; the former gets angry that Brandy must be a contestant on her father's game show, where she would compete for the affection of three bachelors.
