Russian native Anka Zhuravleva is a women who wears many hats; she has been a singer for a rock band, a tattoo artist, and a model for Playboy, among other things.

Most notably, however, she is a photographer whose work is characterized by a delightfully playful and surreal quality.

Each photo in Zhuravleva's series is like a peek inside of a little girl's most intimate daydreams. Her favorite subjects are young women, particularly those with delicate features and slender, colt-like limbs. These females float and tumble in mid-air, their flowy dresses and long hair whipping behind them.

Unrestricted by gravity or societal demands, they enact their girlhood fantasies; they play out circus and fairy-tale themes, host tea parties, carrying enormous stuffed animals, and bounce on elaborately cushioned beds.

Soft lighting and a hazy focus emphasize this dream-like quality.
