'Are You Joking?' Starring Hannibal Buress, Will Have A VOD Release

There aren't a lot of movies about stand-up comedy. Those that are around have an under tone of sadness or end in some kind of tragedy.

Comedy Dynamics new movie starring Sas Goldberg, Jake Wilson, and Hannibal Buress, "Are You Joking?," aims to do the opposite.

"Are You Joking" tells the story of Barb Schwartz (Goldberg), who is a twenty-something office worker that lives in New York. She has a passion for comedy but has never done anything about it.

Her best friend (Wilson) inspires her to turn that passion into a career.

"There aren't really a lot of movies about stand-up comedy," says Brian Volk-Weiss president of Comedy Dynamics. "It's an art that I'm excited is being touched on in this film."

Wilson directed and cowrote the script with Goldberg. Goldberg and Wilson were also the executive producers for the film, along with Kevin Iwashina and Sirad Balduuci.

"Are You Joking?" was successful at the Hollywood Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, and Gold Coast International Film Festival. It was an official entry at the Palm Beach International Film Festival.

The movie won't be coming out in theaters. Instead, on September 18th "Are You Joking" will be released on Video On Demand. Which includes all digital platforms as well as cable, tv, and satellite VOD platforms.
