The musical Internet is buzzing with rumors on whether or not Travis Scott and Kanye West are going to pull a Kanye and Jay-Z/Drake and Future and release a collaborative project. It might not be very impossible to think that a collaboration album is on it's way.
Scott shook things up with his announcement that him and Kanye West have been plotting for years and it's about to surface. Let's take a step back and think about collaboration albums and West. He and Jay-Z made the surprise move to create Watch The Throne, arguably one of the most monumental hip-hop collaborations to come at that time. Then, West decided to drop Cruel Summer, a collaborative effort between G.O.O.D. Music artists Big Sean, Teyana Taylor, Cyhi The Prynce, Kid Cudi (at the time), Common, John Legend and yes Scott, among other features.
West is no stranger when it comes to large scale collaborations in the form of albums. The fact that he and Scott have worked closely together over the years on numerous projects including Watch The Throne and Cruel Summer only bodes well for a collaborative album between the two. When Drake and Future released What A Time To Be Alive the Internet went into a frenzy and together Drizzy and Future topped Billboard. If West and Scott were to do the same, there is no telling what would happen.
Even further, West revealed that the release of Swish, an album promised for this year, will be pushed back during his interview with Vanity Fair. He also told Vanity Fair that the album may not even hold that same title. So with such a long interval of time between now and the release of the new Kanye West album, what better way to please your fans than to collaborate on something fresh with one of the hottest young names in hip-hop? There just seems to be a lot more of a possibility that this may actually happen. However, until Scott or West reveals more information it's going to have everyone wondering just what they have been plotting all of this time.
