Feud Brewing? The Young Turks (TYT) Cenk Uygur Hits Back At NBC After Insult

The Young Turks have gotten into many feuds in the past -- mostly not of their own making -- but now things have ratcheted up a notch, with a new feud brewing between Cenk Uygur and an NBC commentator.

The brewing feud is the result of a story by Alex Seitz-Wald on NBC News' website decrying progressives in the Democratic Party.

The story attacks Bernie Sanders supporters, arguing that their continued 'radicalism' will cause the Democrats to lose during the 2018 elections. In the story, Seitz-Wald makes a general side remark about progressives:

But the more radical strain, which led hundreds of Sanders delegates to walk out of the Democratic National Convention in protest last summer, is still present on the left and emboldened by the loss of Hillary Clinton and their belief that "Bernie would have won."

That didn't sit well with Cenk Uygur, who called out Seitz-Wald for 'sucking up' to powerful Democrats. The article then goes on to question the viability of progressive movements, saying that they haven't yet won any major elections.

But what really raised the ire of Cenk Uygur and The Young Turks is this passage:

But for Justice Democrats' founder, liberal media personality Cenk Uygur, what seems to matter most is inflicting damage on the Democratic Party.

The group's website features an image of a sledgehammer smashing the "D" logo of the Democratic National Committee and declares "it's time to rebuild the Democratic Party from scratch."

The article goes on to insist that Cenk Uygur's "Justice Democrats"don't really have any plans to win anything.

In the end, the article says this: "Critics say Uygur's slash-and-burn approach to the Democratic Party is little more than an opportunist attempt to corner the media market for disaffected liberals."

Cenk Uygur Hits Back

Ouch -- the feud is on.

So how did Cenk Uygur and The Young Turks respond? After explaining why he doesn't like establishment Democrats, Uygur said this: "What are you cornering the market on? Sucking up to Democratic Party officials?" He continued, "You can laugh and write these snide articles all day long...we'll see you in the voting booth...and yes, we will be merciless."

Uygur further hit at Seitz-Wald for being out-of-touch, before telling viewers to sign a petition to resist both Trump and establishment Democrats.

In attacking The Young Turks and Cenk Uygur for attacking Democrats, Seitz-Wald is himself attacking other Democrats -- ones that have a lot bigger platform than Seitz-Wald.

Later in the evening, Uygur spoke more about the article. "I'm gonna break them," he said during The Young Turks post-game show. He continued, discussing more broadly the entire establishment: "you are a f----- loser."

This isn't the first feud for The Young Turks. In the past, they have been involved in several feuds.

One, for example, was with MSNBC, which Cenk Uygur quit after allegedly being told to take it easy on politicians.

Separately, Keith Olbermann attacked Uygur and The Young Turks in court filings in his lawsuit against the Current TV network (which was sold to Al Jazeera and then shut down).

And of course, who can forget the brawl that occurred between Alex Jones and Roger Stone and TYT hosts when Jones and Stone crashed the The Young Turks set during the Republican convention.

We'll see what the next shot fired will be...
