Ana Kasparian, co-host of The Young Turks (often called TYT), a popular progressive political show on Youtube, has revealed that she was secretly married in November 2015, even though she has been discussing getting married in late 2016 for several months.

The groom, minor league baseball player and model Christian Lopez, and Ana Kasparian were engaged in late 2015.

The secret wedding was conducted in an officiant's house in the Beverly Hills area.

The couple had spoken publicly several times about their plans for a large wedding in late 2016, but until now, they had not shared the fact that they were already married.

During The Young Turks' (TYT) "postgame" show online, Ana Kasparian spoke with TYT co-host Cenk Uygur about the decision to get married secretly. Kasparian explained that soon after she became engaged to Lopez, she went on a business trip.

During the trip, she spoke to Lopez about not wanting to wait until 2016 to get married. Lopez suggested that the two get married immediately.

"It was the ****** best...We talked to each other on the phone, and we were like we just want to get married...he's like let's just do it when you come back," Ana Kasparian said. She further explained that she and Lopez went to a courthouse in Beverly Hills and were told that they needed an officiant.

They quickly found an officiant and went to the officiant's house one Sunday and got married. "It literally took like five minutes," Kasparian said. The couple had brioche donuts afterward.

Although she had told her mother, Ana Kasparian revealed that even her father was not aware of the secret wedding.

TYT's Cenk Uygur, who will act as the officiant of the public wedding, was apparently aware of the secret wedding, although he did not attend. Kasparian still plans to have her public wedding later this year.

In addition to co-hosting The Young Turks, Ana Kasparian will be co-hosting a cable TV show on the Fusion network with TYT host John Idarolla.
