WWE Is Relying Too Much On Past Wrestlers Again

For the past decade or so, WWE has been relying too much on John Cena and Randy Orton as their biggest stars.

Now with John Cena working in Hollywood more often, one would think the WWE would focus on building younger and newer stars. Well this still hasn't happened yet because the older stars continue to get the limelight.

Aside from Roman Reigns and Ronda Rousey, no other current wrestlers on the roster have had a huge push. Sure Braun Strowman was getting booked well, but now he's a heel and WWE is favoring Roman Reigns over him.

Now Roman Reigns is not even the focal point anymore because WWE is bringing back even older stars to hog the limelight.

We are now building towards two PPVs in the next few weeks and Attitude era wrestlers are the main stars of the show.

This is because WWE is building towards a tag-team match between The Undertaker and Kane vs Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

All of these guys are around 50 years old and they get more screentime than all of the other younger guys on the roster.

Not to mention Brock Lesnar will be back in order to promote his match against Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman for the Universal Title at the Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia.

Another name coming back later this month is Kurt Angle who took a mini break as the Raw GM. It's being said that he too will be back and wrestling more matches in the near future.

It's not just the older male stars that are hogging the limelight either.

Lita and Trish Stratus are back as they are wrestling in the 'Evolution' PPV later this month.

I don't have a problem with older stars coming back, my main issue is that WWE has not build towards any new stars for several years now.

There are a lot of talented new stars on the roster, but many of them aren't given the same amount of screentime and opportunities as the stars of yesterday.

Only Roman Reigns and Ronda Rousey have been pushed strongly, while the rest of the current roster just feel like mid-carders at best.
