WWE Backlash 2017 is on this weekend and it's a unique PPV. It's unique mainly because the Smackdown brand is experimenting with new talent.

The Superstar Shake Up caused most of Smackdown's biggest stars to defect to Raw. It will be interesting to see if this PPV can deliver.

These are my match predictions on who I think WWE is going to book to win.

I'm one that usually likes to cheer for the underdogs, but the WWE hasn't pushed new stars for a very long time. In my opinion, WWE isn't going to change its mindset anytime soon

Tye Dillinger vs. Aiden English: This is a simple mid-card match on the pre-show.

Aiden English is now a singles star after this tag-team partner was fired a few weeks ago.

Tye Dillinger on the other hand just came from NXT and is a happy mid-card babyface. Tye Dillinger needs/should to win to keep his momentum going.

Luke Harper vs. Erick Rowan: Both of these guys have lost all direction ever since Bray Wyatt was traded to Raw.

Luke Harper is the better wrestler of the two, but I feel there's a chance Erick Rowan can win this one. There are rumors Rowan might form a new team with The Ascension.

Baron Corbin vs. Sami Zayn: Sami Zayn is better suited on Smackdown, but sadly he still plays second fiddle to lots of other stars.

WWE has been grooming Baron Corbin to be the next main event star so I believe he will beat Sami Zayn. The WWE office prefer the big guys usually.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler: I don't think I need to say anything else about this match.

WWE has saved Nakamura's in-ring main roster debut until Backlash 2017. Nakamura is winning as he's still popular with the fans. Ziggler at this point of his career is just a glorified jobber to make the new talents look good.

Naomi, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch vs. Natalya, Carmella, and Tamina: This is the first time in a while that the Women's title won't be defended.

Instead, we have a six-woman tag match. All the ladies are talented, but I think the heels need to win this one. It won't make sense from a storyline point of view if the babyfaces win this time.

United States Championship - Kevin Owens (c) vs. AJ Styles: This could be the match of the night as it features two talented wrestlers.

It's also possible that this could be the main event. However, I feel this match could have a dirty finish with Kevin Owens retaining the belt. This feud needs to continue beyond just Backlash.

Smackdown Tag Team Championship - The Usos (c) vs. Breezango: This is an odd match.

Breezango were booked as jobbers a few weeks ago, but now they are fighting for the belts.

Not to mention Breezango are still being booked as a comedy act. Due to that, I feel that The Usos are winning this match comfortably.

WWE Championship - Randy Orton (c) vs. Jinder Mahal: Much like Breezango, Jinder Mahal's push also came out of nowhere.

Jinder Mahal was a jobber for many months, but now he's got an opportunity to prove himself in the main event. I'm hoping Mahal wins just to see a breath of fresh air, although I don't think he's winning it.

There's a chance Mahal could shine, but it seems as if viewers aren't too keen on watching him.

The ratings for Smackdown have been low ever since he was pushed.

It's possible Randy Orton keeps the belt as it feels like they are making Orton keeping it until at least SummerSlam to face Baron Corbin or maybe AJ Styles down the road.
