Would Trump Throw Jared Kushner Under The Bus If He Were Implicated?

Donald Trump may be facing a serious decision soon. According to reports in The Washington Post and The New York Times. a senior official who is close to Trump is a person of interest in the Trump-Russia investigation.

Although we don't know for sure, it's pretty easy to guess who that person may be.

There were four people who were known to have been in meetings with Russians during the election and early in the administration: Mike Flynn, Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, and Jeff Sessions.

Mike Flynn and Paul Manafort no longer are in the White House; Jeff Sessions never really was in the White House, and he's not close to Trump. So that leaves one guy.

So the question becomes: if that one guy were to somehow be implicated, would Donald Trump protect him, or would he throw him under the bus to protect himself.

There is plenty of history for this. Trump has thrown countless business associates, friends, and colleagues under the bus. Most recently, he threw his staff under the bus when he came out and contradicted them regarding James Comey.

And it waasn't just small stuff: In the 80s, Trump colluded with retailers to avoid sales tax by buying jewelry and shipping empty boxes out of state (since things shipped out of state don't get charged sales tax).

He was caught, and managed to save himself by squealing on the retailer.

There were other examples of this behavior in Trump's past as well.

But would he do it to his own family? Jared Kushner is his son-in-law, of course.

Although Trump has been very loyal to his kids -- he hasn't been so loyal to people who aren't blood relatives.

He has intimidated his exes, and of course he was even accused of raping one (though that was later retracted).

In the end, it's unclear what Trump would do if he were in a save-yourself-vs-save-Jared situation. Ivanka would likely be the deciding vote. One thing is for sure, however: Jared better get himself a personal lawyer fast.
