Even though the 2017 Wonder Woman movie is not out until the month of June, Box Office analysts are already forecasting how much money it could make in its opening weekend in North America.

It may not open as high as other DC properties, but it matches up with other solo offerings from Marvel films.

According to Box Office Pro, the Wonder Woman movie is projected to make around $83 million in its opening weekend. This is around the same ballpark of the $85 million that Marvel's Doctor Strange earned last year when it opened in November.

The projected number was based on a lot of things.

They say that this movie could go well with female audience movie goers as it has been a long time since we have seen a female-led superhero movie.

The last few superhero movies starring females in the lead role were Elektra and Catwoman.

They also said this movie could do well since it avoids competition from other comic book movies.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. is out in May while Spider-Man: Homecoming is out in July. The June opening might be a good thing for both DC and Warner Bros.

There are some reasons why the Box Office opening isn't higher. They say that the social media count for the film is lower than the buzz that Suicide Squad has last year.

They also say the lukewarm reception of other DC movies might scare off other viewers.

The release date is a problem since it's in the middle of other blockbusters such as The Mummy reboot starring Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

The total North American Box Office projection for Wonder Woman is a respectable $225 million.

The movie could earn more money than what is being projected if word of mouth is really good. I hope the movie does well as the character deserves more recognition.
