So the announcement that "Girl Meets World" will debut on June 27 has all the 20-somethings going crazy.

Back in the day, Boy Meets World was never a #1 show, but it was tattooed into everyone's 90's childhood as part of the TGIF line-up (which made it cool to stay in on a Friday, especially if you didn't have a license).

When rumors started circulating earlier this year that Disney Channel might be interested in a spin-off almost 15 years later, the internet almost exploded.

Now personally, I am a HUGE fan of Boy Meets World. And whereas I don't enjoy poo-pooing things that I love, Girl Meets World is doomed to fail. Well, let me be more specific. It is doomed to fail for us 20-somethings.

Disney Channel has an amazing track record of having successful shows that capture a young audience. This will likely do the same. But for all of us who are excited to see Cory and Topanga again, this won't go well.

Girl Meets World is not going to be what we want it to in June

The Corpanga chemistry may still be there, or it may not. But it doesn't matter, this show is relying on new young stars. Disney Channel stars.

If you are between the ages of 20-35, try watching a couple hours of current Disney Channel programming. You will want to blow your brains out.

Not even Shaun Hunter could protect you from the annoying and often mind-numbing dialog of current Disney Channel shows. And unfortunately, they work for the current young audience. Girl Meets World sounds exciting and even ground-breaking.

But the execution will follow the new model of kids programming and for that reason, we will all resent the fact that they are bringing it back.

Then we'll all have to sit back and watch the Family Matters remake... ugh.
