Aside from Dixie Carter appearing on the WWE Network, the other shocking news topic from the wrestling world this week was Austin Aries getting released from the WWE. More details have now been revealed on why he had to depart the company.

According to the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer (via Wrestlezone), WWE released Austin Aries themselves as he did not request leave himself.

The reason they fired him is because they didn't like his attitude. Not to mention the writing team weren't fans of him either.

Aries doesn't seem to care too much because he tweeted out that he was happy. Aries had been upset with his position in the company for quite some time since he was only relegated to the Cruiserweight Division.

In Impact Wrestling/TNA, he was the main World Champion. You can understand his frustration when a glass ceiling is put above your head.

He was also upset that his WrestleMania 33 match with Neville was on the kickoff show. Some of the kickoff matches were not put on the WrestleMania 33 DVD due to time constraints so he missed out on being paid further royalties.

WWE could have upgraded him to Raw to feud with The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship or something like that.

After all, how many times do we need to see The Miz face Dean Ambrose over and over again? Aries could have also been a major player if he were to be drafted onto Smackdown Live.

Aries doesn't have to worry as he can still make good money.

Cody Rhodes left WWE back in 2016 and is having a great time so far. WWE is not the only professional wrestling company in the world so Aries should easily find work again.
