A few weeks ago there were talks that Wally West/Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) would be joining the DC's Legends of Tomorrow show.

Well now it is official because the character has been added to the popular CW show as a series regular.

Entertainment Weekly has reported that Wally West/Kid Flash will be appearing in DC's Legends of Tomorrow in episode 13 of Season 3. The reason Kid Flash is being added is because two characters left the show in late 2017.

Martin Stein died during the epic crossover event while his counterpart Jefferson Jackson also departed the team. This left the team with two new vacancies that should be occupied nicely by Kid Flash.

Executive producer for the show, Phil Klemmer, commented more about Kid Flash's introduction in a statement he gave to Entertainment Weekly. You can read his comments on the topic down below.

So now, Wally West is not only back in the company of old friends from the Arrowverse, he's fighting alongside a former enemy and career arsonist Mick Rory/Dom Purcell. By the end of this season, Wally will learn that the Legends have a different definition of what it means to be a hero

Wally West/Kid Flash was previously written out of The Flash because the show would have lost dramatic tension having two hero speedsters around.

In other words, the show writers couldn't make the villains threatening enough if two speedsters could save the day in literally two seconds.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow comes back on the The CW Network on February 12th, 2018. It will be overtaking Supergirl's timeslot which will be on a break.
