Venom is a fun movie, although it isn't perfect because there are several flaws in the film. The director of the movie, Ruben Fleischer, talked about a certain big plot hole in the film during a recent interview.

Anyway, there is a major plot hole in the movie concerning the symbiote of Riot. Riot takes over the body of an old lady in Malaysia and pretty much stays there for like six months doing nothing.

People felt this was a plot hole because Riot would not have waited that long in order to visit the Life Foundation. Mr Fleischer explained the plot hole during an interview with Gamespot.

Yeah, that’s a good question. That’s one of our few–hopefully–few logic bumps. But we had to have a passage of time in order to show Eddie’s downfall, and that was the one thing that doesn’t entirely track. But I like to think that old lady was going around murdering all throughout Malaysia, and she was just having a good old time just shooting shards through different people in Malaysia

It sounds like Fleischer knows it's a plot hole, but suggests that Riot liked living in Malaysia after all that time.

This is probably one of those points that will be talked about a lot of times kind of similar to how Bruce Wayne magically appeared in Gotham City in The Dark Knight Rises.

Venom is released now in cinemas worldwide. The movie is doing quite well at the Box Office and Sony is planning for it to have many spin-offs and sequels.
