Vanilla Ice made a surprise appearance at the 47th annual Florida Governor's Conference on Tourism at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Florida to perform his classic track "Ice Ice Baby" with the Palm Beach Symphony.

??The conference's director or marketing and governmental affairs told the Palm Beach Post that "We wanted to come up with something really different. It is something we think people won't forget."??

The Palm Beach Post also pointed out that Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Matthew Van Winkle, was drawing more of a line than the governor Rick Scott himself.

Van Winkle boasted about Palm Beach County's landmarks and tourist attractions, "I live here in Palm Beach County with my teenage daughters, and we love it here."??

Judging by his Twitter feed, it appears that Van Winkle is no stranger to Republican politics.

In August 2011, during the Republican presidential primaries, he posted that he was impressed with Herman Cain, but was also "not really convinced yet by anyone."

??Scott is currently in a tight race against Democratic challenger, Charlie Crist, a former Republican governor who switched parties in 2012. Crist served one term from 2007 to 2011 and declined to run for reelection, jumping into the state's 2010 Senate race instead.

He went onto to lose to Republican rising-star Marco Rubio. ?
