Well as if the failed "Nightwing" rumors weren't heartbreaking enough, it looks like "The Vampire Diaries" Steven R. McQueen will be saying goodbye this week, but today, McQueen posted a few interesting photos to his Instagram account.

First McQueen began with a photo of him and the star of "Rocky IV" and "The Expendables," Dolph Lundgren.

Lundgren is one of the action greats and it looks like McQueen has a little fanboy in him when it comes to action stars.

He then followed that photo up with one showing a showcase of all of the Batman masks from the early years to present day simply captioning the photo, "Holy Crap."

Fans of McQueen know that there was once a rumor that he would be playing Nightwing in another DC Comics spinoff for TV but it never quite worked out for the role.

Since then McQueen has plastered his Instagram account with photos of comic book superheroes and photos of him getting fit.

While he was able to see the Batman masks evolution, McQueen was also in the company of the famous Batsuit and it looked pretty awesome, so awesome that McQueen captioned the photo with another "Holy Crap."

Thursday will be a sad day for many fans of "The Vampire Diaries" as the show says goodbye to Jeremy the character played by McQueen. McQueen was there from the shows successful start to it's continuous run and will now be departing Mystic Falls to attend art school in Thursday's episode.

It would be nice to see McQueen land a role where he takes the lead character and judging from the Instagram page, whatever it is might have to be along the lines of a superhero flick or TV show because McQueen has been pretty hard at work in the gym.

Fans of McQueen can catch his departure on the CW at 8 PM EST.
