It seems that just like the pale, sparkly, lead characters, the Twilight Saga is never going to end.
You might have thought that after the books, movies, and god awful fanfiction series that the vampires made of marble and glitter were finally going to be out of you life.
Seven short films have been made from selected finalists for Twilight Stories, the short film contest based off the books.
This contest is a multiphase one. Female filmmakers were asked to put together a team and submit a script. Out of all the scripts only six were picked to be developed into short films.
The scripts were voted on by Stephine Meyer, Lionsgate, Women In Film, Facebook and Volvo.
Then the contest moved to pick directors for each film. Now that the films are done, fans are asked to watch them over on the facebook page and vote for the finalist.
Each of the scripts focuses on one character from the saga. They are to tell a story about their life before their appearance in the books. Most popular was Alice Cullen.
She's the psychic sister of Edward's whose abilities were hinted at as part of her life before the transformation and one character we don't see a lot of their past in the books. Another was Benjamin, a vampire with the ability to control the elements.
Carlisle Cullen, Edward's adoptive father, appeared in another. The fourth character to get a short was the Volturi guard, Jane.
Even more importantly, the Twilight contest will allow Meyer to reach the passionate fans of her franchise and enabling their own creative participation at the same time.
"I'm honored to be working with Women In Film, Lionsgate and Facebook on a project dedicated to giving more women a chance to be heard creatively."
