Garni Temple: Located on a rocky plateau 30km east of Yerevan, Garni Temple is an ancient Hellenistic temple that was built in the 1st century AD. The temple is dedicated to the sun god, Mihr, and it is one of the most significant architectural monuments in Armenia. The temple was destroyed by an earthquake in 1679 and it was rebuilt in 1975.
