What to do in Wuyuan, China
Wuyuan, known as the “most beautiful countryside” in China, is located in the northeastern part of Jiangxi Province. It is a relatively untouched destination that offers a glimpse into traditional Chinese architecture and rural life. Visitors can explore Wuyuan’s ancient villages, take in the natural beauty of the area’s mountains and rivers, and experience the region’s rich cultural heritage. Here are some of the top tourist attractions in Wuyuan:
1. Jiangling Village: This is one of the most well-preserved ancient villages in Wuyuan. It is home to a number of traditional Hui-style buildings, including the Ming and Qing Dynasties residence of Hu Changyi, the former Minister of the Ministry of Revenue, and Wenchang Pavilion, which is found in the center of the village.
2. Likeng Village: This village is also known for its Hui-style architecture, which is characterized by white walls, black tiles, and horse-head walls. Visitors can explore the village’s narrow alleyways and visit its cultural relics, including Zao Gong Ancestral Hall and the Ancient County Government.
3. Xiaoqi Village: This village is situated between mountains and rivers, and is known for its idyllic scenery.
