Maiji Mountain is known as one of the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist grotto art, the grottoes in Maiji Mountain are a combination of eleven prominent grottoes and over two hundred and fifty satellite caves that have preserved some of the most impressive sculpture and architecture from the Northern Wei dynasty onward. Tourists can leisurely stroll through the grottoes and observe amazing stone sculptures and frescoes with up-close access to intricate rock carvings of Buddha statues along with lots of ancient artwork.
