Once the seat of the Kings of Sicily, this palace is now the place where the Regional Assembly of Sicily meet. 3. The Piazza Pretoria

If you are looking for some relaxation and tranquility, then head a bit outside of Palermo, and visit La Favorita Park. It is considered to be one of the green-air lungs of Palermo as well as one of the largest parks in Italy. The park is home to one of the most stunning villas in the area, Villino Florio, which is entirely surrounded by a marvelous garden.
5. The Martorana Church
The Martorana Church is an ancient church that is considered to be a hidden wonder of the architectural world. The church has a colorful Byzantine interior and features Arab- and Norman-style ‘muqarnas’ niches with incredible frescoes that illustrate themes from the Bible or saints. The church's stunning details make it a spot not to be missed by anyone that loves art.
6. Capuchin Catacombs
The Capuchin catacombs offer a different and bizarre view in a journey through the macabre human history. It is a series of catacombs that were used as a burial ground during the seventeenth century. The underground corridors contain numerous embalmed bodies, some of which look so lifelike that you might think they are sleeping.
