What to do in Northern Belize, Quintana Roo, Belize
The Northern region of Belize, specifically in Quintana Roo, is a haven for tourists who want to experience the Caribbean lifestyle. The area boasts of rich cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, stunning beaches, and Mayan ruins. Here are some of the top tourist attractions in Northern Belize.
1. Ambergris Caye: This small island located near the Belize Barrier Reef is known for its turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and vibrant marine life. It is a popular destination for snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, and water sports.
2. Belize Barrier Reef: The second-largest barrier reef in the world offers numerous diving and snorkeling opportunities. The reef is home to 70 different species of hard coral, 36 species of soft coral, and over 500 species of fish.
3. Bacalar Chico National Park and Marine Reserve: This protected area is located on the northern tip of Ambergris Caye and offers visitors a chance to explore a variety of ecosystems, including mangroves, lagoons, and coral reefs. It is also home to several Mayan ruins.
