3. Rabbitkettle Lake and Tufa Mounds
Located in the eastern region of the park, the Rabbitkettle Lake and Tufa Mounds feature some of the park’s most unique geography. The over 200 tufa mounds along the lake’s edge are formed from layers of calcium carbonate and are some of the largest and highest formation concentration in the world.
The Rabbitkettle Lake is also home to the cascading Rabbitkettle River that can be hiked for a unique and adventurous experience.
4. Spectacular Wildlife
Nahanni National Park Reserve is filled with a wide variety of wildlife, including wolves, bears, caribou, mountain goats, and eagles. The wildlife in the park is a testament to the region’s untouched wilderness, and it’s a chance for visitors to see some of Canada’s incredible wildlife in its natural habitat.
