About your travel guide

Hi! I'm Dev. I've traveled all over the world and in my travels, I have made many packing lists. In this series, my team and I have compiled the most useful information, as well as things we couldn't live without, to help you plan your trip.

When to go to Haridwar, India

When to visit Haridwar depends on many factors. There are many religious festivals -- especially over July. The next Kumbh Mela doesn't occur until 2028, but other festivals, like Kanwar Mela, occur every year.

If you want to attend Kanwar Mela or other festivals during Sawan in July, you can expect huge crowds and very hot weather.

If you can go at another time, we suggest November, when you can attend Kartik Purnima, but temperatures are more manageable, and monsoon season is over. See below for details.
