The heart of Girón is its historic center, which has been declared a National Monument by the Colombian government. The cobblestone streets, colonial buildings, and the Plaza de Mercado (Market Square) will take you back in time to the Spanish colonial era. The most iconic buildings in the historic center include the Church of San Juan Bautista, the Chapel of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, the Casa de la Cultura, and the Casa del Fundador.
