What to do in Derventa, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Derventa is a town located in the northwestern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. While it may not be as well known as some of the country's more popular tourist destinations, Derventa has its own unique charm and plenty of things to see and do. Here are some of the top tourist attractions in Derventa.

1. Derventa City Park

As the largest park in Derventa, the city park is a great spot to relax and take a break from sightseeing. It features walking paths, benches, and plenty of green space. Visitors can rent bicycles, boats, and playground equipment for children.

2. Franjo Lovric Ethnographic Museum

This museum is named after a well-known Croatian ethnographer and features exhibits that showcase the cultural heritage of Derventa and its surrounding areas. Visitors can see traditional agricultural tools, textiles, and pottery, as well as an authentic country kitchen from the early 20th century.

3. Church of St. George

The Church of St. George is a Serbian Orthodox church that was built in 1854. The church features beautiful frescoes and icons, and visitors are greeted by a stunning iconostasis as they enter.

4. Kapija Vukovije

Kapija Vukovije is a natural rock formation that is located on the west side of Derventa. It is believed to have been formed during the Ice Age and stands at 20 meters high. Visitors can climb to the top for stunning views of the surrounding hills and countryside.
