1. The Felix Adler Children's Discovery Center: This interactive museum describes itself as a place where "children learn through play." It is home to an indoor playground with a pirate ship, a farm system with a tractor and simulated farming activities, and diverse learning stations.
2. The Bickelhaupt Arboretum: Located in Clinton, this 14-acre outdoor museum is home to more than 2500 hatchling flowers, large trees, shrubs and wetland plants. It also has a few gardens, including Rose Garden, Butterfly Garden and more dotted throughout.
3. The Sawmill Museum: As Clinton was once a center for lumber mills, it's no surprise that the Sawmill Museum made our list. Through historical exhibits and hands-on experiences, visitors can learn about the local timber industry dating back from the 1800s to the present day.
4. Eagle Point Park: Sprawling across more than 164 acres, this gorgeous park offers spectacular views of the Mississippi River. It features a small lighthouse, grilling and picnic areas, sports fields, hiking trails, tennis courts, an 18-hole disc golf course, and more.
5. Clinton Engines Museum & Factory Tour: The Clinton Engines Museum teaches visitors the story of the company that made the engine for the country's All-American Classic cars. The museum also offers a guided walking tour, allowing guests to explore the factory floor and learn about the manufacturing process.
6. The Showboat Theatre: This scenic outdoor theater presents professional summer-season shows, nearly every day from late May through August. It's an excellent way to experience theater in a natural environment, plus it's situated alongside the Mississippi River.
7. Paddlewheel Riverboats: Discover the Mississippi River aboard a paddlewheel riverboat. These unique boats offer a range of cruises, from one-hour sightseeing tours to lunch, dinner and cocktail cruises, and other unique experiences.
Clinton is a fantastic place to visit, with a great mix of attractions that cater to everyone from families to nature lovers, history buffs, and theater enthusiasts. Be sure to spend time in this beautiful and welcoming the city on the Mississippi River!
