2017 was a big year for comic book movies, but 2018 will arguably be better. There are many cool comic book movies to look forward to from numerous Hollywood studios.

This won't be a top 10 list or anything like that, this is just an article to let you know the comic book movies that are coming out in the next 365 days.

Anyway, see below for the list of comic book movies in 2018 that you should try and watch.

Bear in mind, the release dates are for North America. The dates will be slightly different if you live in other parts of the world.

Black Panther - February 16th, 2018: The first comic book movie to be released next year is Marvel Studios' Black Panther.

A lot of hype is surrounding this release because it's the first MCU film to feature an African American lead character.

Not to mention the trailers make the movie look a little more serious than Marvel's more recent comedy efforts.

Fans were first introduced to this character in Captain America: Civil War in 2016 and he has been a fan favorite ever since.

The New Mutants - April 13th, 2018: I applaud 20th Century Fox for thinking outside the box because 'The New Mutants' is shaping up to be the most unique looking comic book movie released in 2018.

The trailers show that this has a more horror movie vibe which is a genre superhero movies have rarely explored. The movie could be a surprise hit if it manages to resonate with many movie goers.

Avengers: Infinity War - May 4th, 2018: I don't think I have to say much about Avengers: Infinity War because most of you will know what it's about already.

It brings nearly every MCU hero together as they try and take down Thanos with his Infinity Gauntlet.

Lots of characters are in this movie including all of the original Avengers, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy and more. I have no doubt that this film will be the highest grossing movie of 2018.

Not to mention there's a ton of hype surrounding its release.

It might be the only film in the foreseeable future to actually challenge the likes of Avatar, Titanic and The Force Awakens as one of the highest grossing movies of all time.

Deadpool 2 - June 1st, 2018: The first Deadpool movie from 20th Century Fox came out of nowhere and managed to gross a lot of money despite its R rating.

The thing that made the movie successful is because of its unique brand of humor.

There aren't that many characters in popular media like Deadpool. He usually likes to break the fourth wall and usually goes against normal superhero tropes. This could be by far the funniest comic book movie of 2018.

Ant-Man and the Wasp - July 6th, 2018: The first Ant-Man movie was a surprise hit even though the film went under a lot of creative changes due to a change of director.

However, the movie was still popular enough to warrant a sequel.

The movie is being described as Marvel's first romantic comedy. This should be interesting as it will be a departure to the usual MCU movies we've seen in the past.

Alita: Battle Angel - July 20th, 2018: This is a movie based on a Japanese anime called Battle Angel Alita.

The first trailer was released a few weeks ago and it was unique because the main character has huge anime eyes in a live action setting.

There are lots of talented people involved in the film as James Cameron is a producer while Robert Rodriguez is behind the director's chair. Hopefully the movie ends up being good while still remaining true to the source material.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix - November 2nd, 2018: 20th Century Fox bungled the Dark Phoenix storyline in 2006 in Brett Ratner's horrible X-Men: The Last Stand movie.

Thanks to Day of Future Past semi rebooting the franchise, 20th Century Fox is attempting this storyline once again.

This time the film is set in the '90s and retains most of the cast that were introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse.

The Dark Phoenix storyline is one of the best from the X-Men comic books, so hopefully this adaptation gets it right.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse - December 14th, 2018: Sony Pictures will be releasing its first animated Spider-Man movie with Miles Morales as the main character. However, this won't be just any ordinary Spider-Man movie.

This is because the movie taps into the multiverse so Miles Morales can meet Spider-Men/Women from other universes.

There's a lot of directions the movie can go and I cannot wait to see it as Spider-Man is my favorite superhero of all time.

Aquaman - December 21st, 2018: This is the only DC film releasing in 2018 and it comes out over a year after the November 2017 release of Justice League. Jason Momoa returns to play Aquaman set in the underwater city of Atlantis.

Aquaman could be awesome since Momoa was charismatic in Justice League. The film is being directed by James Wan who helmed Furious 7, so you will know this film should have a lot of exciting action sequences.
