Columbia Records has announced the release of "Wish I Was Here- Music From The Motion Picture," the official soundtrack to the first movie directed by Zach Braff since his indie breakout hit Garden State.

The original screenplay for Wish I Was Here is by the director and his brother Adam, and was success at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

Following the strong emotional response to the movie from preview audiences at word-of-mouth screenings throughout the last few weeks, Focus Features will release Wish I Was Here in select cities on Friday, July 18, expanding to theaters across the country on Friday, July 25.

The Wish I Was Here soundtrack showcases music hand-picked by Zach Braff, including exclusive new songs from The Shins, Bon Iver, and Cat Power + Coldplay.

Wish I Was Here --Music From The Motion Picture will be available in stores and digitally Tuesday, July 15. A special 12" double gatefold, 180 gram vinyl version of the soundtrack will be released Tuesday, August 5.

In addition, Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Zach Braff's Garden State with the first-ever 12" vinyl release of the movie's Grammy Award-winning and era-defining soundtrack album. The soundtrack features songs from The Shins, Coldplay, Simon & Garfunkel, Iron & Wine and Zero 7; it has sold nearly 1.5 million copies in the U.S. and is certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The new 12" double gatefold, 180 gram vinyl edition of Garden State--Music From The Motion Picture will be available Tuesday, August 5, and will include new artwork and a personal note to fans from Zach Braff.
