Carli Davidson is a photographer from the U.S that specializes in pet portraits, combining her passion for photography with her love for animals.

A love that is more than simple appreciation, as on-top of being a photographer, she's also a trainer of animals. A combination that made her become the freelance photographer for the Oregon zoo.

One of her most well-known projects is entitled ''Shake'' and it portrays dogs and cats while they, in fact, shake their bodies, taking the water off their fur, fighting with an insect or even just dealing with an air-blast. Utilizing a high speed camera, the artist catches poses and expressions extremely amusing and at times or even quite frightening. Pets that became our friends, appear under a different light when their bodies assume different shapes, extending and wrinkling as if they're made of rubber, almost turning these animals into curious monsters rather than the cute puppies we've always loved.
Another more recent and well received series of photos she worked on is called ''Fetch'', a project that had the intention to study the movements of dogs, portraying them while they are busy fetching different flying objects like a Frisbee or a tennis ball.

Following the trail of her other works, the immediacy of the shot is fundamental and it perfectly presents more funny and curious expressions that the pets make when getting ready to catch what gets thrown at them.
Davidson gained international success, appearing on different famous magazines like Vanity Fair and The New York Times and teaching her photography knowledge in various schools.

She loves getting in close contact with her animals, playing with them and making them have fun in front of the lens, and her affinity with the subjects of her portraits appears clear on the photos.
She currently has a book out, containing sixty-one pictures that are part of her ''Shake'' photography collection, that also gives the title to the book.
