'Suicide Squad' Tops the Domestic and Worldwide Box Office Despite Disappointed Critics

Not even the critics disappointment in the new Suicide Squad film could stop it from topping the worldwide and domestic box office in it's opening weekend of August 7.

The film raked in the dough and there are more mixed reviews surfacing by the day.

"Warner Bros.' latest DC Comics release 'Suicide Squad' took aim at the global box office and posted the biggest August opening ever at both the international box office and in North America for a combined weekend of $267.1 million in 58 territories around the world," said comScore's Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian.

"As an added bonus, the film propelled IMAX to its biggest international August debut with $7.2 million. Notably, the fantasy action movie 'Time Raiders' enjoyed a phenomenal weekend of $64.6 million in China for an impressive third place finish on the chart."

The film has been receiving some pretty mixed reviews with the majority of them being in the realm of negativity. That being said, movie-goers still seem to want give their final thoughts on the film.

It was one of the most highly anticipated films for the summer and now with a strange aura surrounding it, it will definitely be tough to tell where it can go.

Though, it is evident the the audience enjoyed it way more than the critics as they scored it a 72 percent while critics' overall score came in around 26 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
