A director for Suicide Squad 2 has now been found.

Since David Ayer (the director of the first movie) is moving on to direct Gotham City Sirens, Gavin O'Connor has stepped up to the plate to direct Suicide Squad 2. Hopefully the movie can turn out great.

The news of Gavin O'Connor being the director of the sequel was confirmed earlier this week by Deadline.

The sequel is set to still star Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared Leto (The Joker), and many other actors/actresses from the first movie.

David Ayer decided to work on Gotham City Sirens which is a spinoff involving Harley Quinn. This spinoff will focus on female supervillains as Catwoman and Poison Ivy are set to be in it.

As for right now, that film has been put on hold at the moment as Warner Bros. is thinking of making a separate movie focusing on the relationship between The Joker and Harley Quinn.

As for Gavin O'Connor, he is going to both direct and write Suicide Squad 2.

His previous efforts included The Accountant starring Ben Affleck and Warrior starring Tom Hardy just to name a few. He has experience working on action movies so he should be able to do a good job.

The first Suicide Squad was a Box Office hit, although the film was met with negative reviews by lots of critics. Fans seemed to like the movie better, although several movie goers didn't like the movie either.

Hopefully the sequel will get a better reception. There's no word when the sequel will be out, but production on the film is expected to start very soon.
