Stephen Colbert Attempts To Make Sense Of The 2016 Election Night

Despite the odds, Donald Trump was elected as the next President of The U.S. While it seemed like the majority of voters was on Hillary Clinton's side, election night proved otherwise. During his full coverage of the event, Stephen Colbert tried to make sense of it all.

"I don't think I could sit down right now," said Colbert.

Colbert wondered if it's really going to come down to the wire and then said he thought it had been an exhausting and bruising election for everyone.

He added that it came down to a conclusion that he was not expecting. The host managed to fit a couple of jokes in, one being that we all now feel like Rudy Giuliani looks.

Colbert added that we are more divided now more than ever. He continued to rattle off statistics that show how terrified political parties were of the outcome.

He eloquently went on to try and explain why this is the reality and outcome that we all face now. You can watch Stephen Colbert's words on election night in the video below.
