Speculation continues about Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. This time, it's about the female protagonist, Rey. According to Making Star Wars, she might be related to one of the series' most beloved characters: Han Solo.

In the now-dissolved Expanded Universe, Han and Leia had a few children--one of them being Jaina Solo. This can be significant, because there has been discussion about retooling Expanded Universe characters into the new canon.

"One of the big questions among fans in attendance? If we might ever see any fan favorites from the Expanded Universe -- now reclassified as non-canon Legacy materials -- introduced in the new films/books/comics/games/etc," Blastr stated.

"The story group representatives on hand confirmed there are ongoing discussions about potentially retooling and reintroducing characters who first appeared in the Expanded Universe down the line. Popular options among those in attendance were Thrawn and Mara Jade."

This, in addition with a hint dropped by Daisey Ridley--Rey's actress--on The Star Wars Report podcast has continued speculation amongst Star Wars' always-theorizing fans.

"I'm not sure how much I can say," Ridley stated on The Star Wars Report, as reported by Making Star Wars. "I guess I've said that I'm solitary, and that's how I begin. That is probably a big clue."

Solitary can be linked with "Solo"--Rey's suspected surname.

This theory has been in discussion for some time. But this recent leak might give it new life.

What do you think? Is Rey a Solo? And if she is, does that mean she's Disney's recreation of Jaina Solo? There are a lot of questions here, and fans will more likely continue theorizing rather than wait for the film in December.
