Square Enix Collective is asking for feedback on Das Tal, which they describe as a "PvP Sandbox MMORPG." Fairy Distillery, a Germany-based independent studio, is developing the game.

In addition, they are holding sign-ups for a Public Alpha Test, which will be on February 8.

"In Das Tal, Sandbox MMORPG meets MOBA: Full Loot and Open PvP create a game of 'risk vs. reward' where you weigh up your options before engaging others," Square Enix states. "PvP is never restricted, but cooperation is often rewarded. Each world is unique in its feature set and geography, with players voting on how worlds are put together.

Time-boxed servers create winners and losers and allow you to regularly start anew. A fluid character system allows you to shape your character to fit your playstyle.

You fight for resources to craft your equipment and construct your settlement. PvP combat is 100% skill-based and quick to be found. Both small-scale clashes and large-scale sieges are available for all players at any time."

Another feature of the game is "limited grinding." Fairy Distillery explains the concept on the title's official website.

"(Limited Grinding) means that we're planning to have a daily XP gain limit (cap)," Fairy Distillery states.

"We feel that the current system of 'farm as much as you want' often leads to unnecessary grind-to-the-level-cap races and that we'd rather have a little bit of progression every day instead.

We'll also have ways for clan members to help their mates by "donating" them XP so that everybody can focus on the main part of the game: PvP."

A trailer with gameplay was included in the press release. The game bears a slight resemblance to League of Legends set in the desert.
