Sia 'Elastic Heart' Controversy Propels Music Video To Massive Views On YouTube

The "Elastic Heart" Music Video for Sia's song ignited accusations that claimed the display pedophilia as Shia LaBeouf and Maddie Ziegler dance around an embrace each other but the controversy around the video may prove to be the driving factor in its success.

12-year-old Ziegler and 28-year-old LaBeouf were the topics of the the music video as fans put aside the meaning and sound of the song itself. The claims of pedophilia surrounding the music video made it the subject of widespread media attention.

Sia even issued her own apology to anyone who was offended by the music video. That very attention may be he driving factor that has propelled the music video to over 35.63 million views in just five days.

That's right, in five days a single music video received more views than some of the most beloved animal clips on youtube such as Munchkin The Shih Tzu and Bao Bao's First Snow.

It's even more than Taylor Swift's Gift Giving video that has 15.1 million in one week as well as more than all of Marvel movie trailers released in the last week.

Barbara Ellen came to Sia's defense stating, "Watching it, I realized that the intensity (Sia's "emotional content") was the reason it was jarring - the mere fact that the video wasn't carefully benign, cheaply titillating or just plain boring, like so much else in the genre. In Elastic Heart, the grown man and the young girl are alive with feelings for each other, running the gamut from amusement and play through to fury to despair.

What isn't there is sexuality. In fact, it baffles me how anyone could look seriously at Elastic Heart and claim to see any sexual content whatsoever."

Ellen's response caught Sia who was delighted that someone had gained the true meaning behind her video.

It's clear to see that the attention the music video was given gave it more fame in the process as does every controversial work of art.
