When a comic book is turned into a movie, there is always a portion of the fan base that is going to rage about very decision made.

The director of Shazam, David F. Sandberg, is already preparing to hear negative feedback even before formal announcements are made.

Sandberg expressed his feelings on Twitter. Historically, comic book fans are a passionate group although sometimes they seem to be too negative about every adaptation. You can read Sandberg's comments on the topic down below.

It will be an interesting experience making a movie where no matter what choices are made there will be some who passionately hate you."Shazam has a hood on his cape? Motherf#**r!!". "Shazam doesn't have a hood on his cape? Burn in hell! I'll have to enjoy this time before much is known about the film and it can be anything to anybody.

The man has never made a huge blockbuster before, but he's ready for the backlash. After all, many DC fans were worried when Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot were cast as Batman and Wonder Woman respectively.

However, things turned out great as fans love both of them now. The only questionable casting that plagues the DC films is Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

I personally don't blame some comic book fans being upset with decisions made in Hollywood. I'm a huge Spider-Man fan and hated everything about Spider-Man 3.

Venom is my favorite comic book villain of all time, and Spider-Man 3 treated the character like garbage.

Things have changed now with more decent comic book movies coming out. Hopefully Sandberg is able to please the hardcore Shazam fans when it comes out in 2019.
