Shad Khan is originally from Pakistan, where he grew up in a rather poor (by U.S. standards) family.
He managed to scrounge enough money together to come to the U.S. for college, although he had to work washing dishes and sleep at the Y.
Khan worked in mechanical engineering for several years before starting a business at the age of 25.
With a few thousand dollars in loan money from the government, Khan built up Bumper Works from nothing to a major player in the industry.
From there, he managed to buy his former employer, and he grew the combined company into a billion dollar business.
The company, Flex-N-Gate has now been around for over a half century and has 62 plants in the U.S. and worldwide.
Shad Khan Net Worth
According to Forbes, Shad Khan's net worth is $8.5 billion as of 2017.
Much of that comes from Flex-N-Gate, which brings in several billion dollars a year in revenue. However, some of it also comes from his NFL franchise, which he bought for $760 million, and his other companies.
