Warner Bros has many DC films planned for the next few years, although nothing concrete has been put in stone as of yet. Well now a new rumor has surfaced that might indicate who the next big villain will be.

As you might know already, Matt Reeves is still writing and directing 'The Batman' solo film which at one point was rumored to have Deathstroke as the main villain.

Now it sounds like the villain could be 'The Penguin' in the new movie.

This new rumor comes from Variety reporter Justin Kroll who posted the new details over on his official Twitter account. You can see what he had to report in post below.

"Take this with a grain of salt as things are constantly changing in the DCEU but I'm hearing the Penguin is possibly the choice to play the main villain in THE BATMAN. Sources add even if Reeves decide to go another route the studio could then make him the main villain in BOP (Birds of Prey). Reeves is still working on the script, so that could always change but of the multiple BIRDS OF PREY scripts submitted, one does have the Penguin as the main heavy. Either way, it seems WB wants this character cast in the universe sooner rather then later."

I'm hoping The Penguin appears in Birds of Prey instead because we already saw the Penguin character used before in Batman Returns. Deathstroke is a much cooler villain to appear in The Batman.

Hopefully more details can be shared about future DC films at the San Diego Comic Con event.

Right now, Warner Bros has announced lots of films, but none of them are in heavy production aside from Aquaman, Shazam and Wonder Woman 2.
