Rumor: John Cena And Joshua Sasse Being Eyed For Shazam

The DC comic book hero movie Shazam is about to be released in the near future. It seems as if Warner Bros.

has narrowed down the search to two actors that they think should play the main character. One actor is a TV star while the other is a WWE Superstar.

According to a report from ThatHashtagShow, their sources claim that Warner Bros. wants either John Cena or Joshua Sasse for the main role in Shazam.

John Cena is of course a professional wrestler for the WWE, but has managed to snag some roles in Hollywood lately.

As for Joshua Sasse, many people may know him best for the TV show Galavant. The reports says a third name was in the running, but this person has fallen out of favor from the studio.

The description for the movie's role has also been revealed in the same report. It seems as if the movie will follow heavily with the comic book's origin.

Male, 12-15 years old. A teenager who becomes Captain Marvel, the world's mightiest mortal. Granted access to incredible powers by the wizard Shazam, he speaks the wizard's name and is struck by a lightning bolt that gives him the powers of the gods.

The movie is set to start filming in February 2018. The villain of Shazam is the character of Black Adam.

Black Adam is being played by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

If John Cena is cast, we might be able to see a wrestling match play out on the big screen! That said, it's rumored the first Shazam movie may not feature Black Adam so this showdown may play out in the future instead.
